thought this was happening with Olivia. She started to regularly have a shorter nap (1 hr) in the morning and a longer one (2-3hrs) in the afternoon. I started to feel more confident in meeting her needs and recognizing her ques. So, after a short while on the so-called schedule she started another GROWTH SPURT! AHHHHHH..... her "schedule" soon changed to feeding basically every hour and only taking naps occasionally...no rhyme or reason that I can see. I did mention to the Dr. that sometimes she barely sleeps at all during the day...his reply, "that is a sign of intelligence". So, I guess there are days when she is just learning too much to sleep! We'll see how this week goes.
Being a mom is the best best thing, much harder than I thought, but Olivia makes our little family perfect and complete (for now).!
At 3 months, Olivia is:
- 13.1 lbs
- 24.5 inches
- going to bed between 7:30 or 8:30pm
- waking up at 5:00am for a feeding, then back to sleep
- up at 7:00am for a feeding, then back to sleep until 8:30
- a morning person! I love waking up to her baby babble
- sleeping in her crib in her own room
- enjoys tummy time for several minutes (we are so proud of her!)
- loves sitting in her Bumbo
- talking, talking, and talking
- very strong
- moving her arms and her legs all day long...except when she's tired
- will start squealing is she's hungry (this starts out quiet and gets louder and louder the longer she waits)
- doesn't relax very much...she is always moving and will always try to sit up if she isn't already
- drooling a LOT
