Major Changes at our House!

So, Olivia has always been such a good sleeper at night time. Even in the very beginning I could put her down at 10:30 pm and she usually wouldn't wake up until 5:00am. A few weeks ago she was going through a growth spurt and began waking up more...and more and more. She has gotten into the habit of waking up several times each night. We decided it was time to really focus on getting Olivia to sleep through the night. She is at the size that she should be able to do this without getting hungry. I was a bit worried about how this would work, as she does not take a soother, but decided to give it a try anyway. Olivia woke up at 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30 (as per usual). Each time I let her cry for 5 min and was surprised to find out that she most often she was quiet and asleep before the 5 min was up! Twice I had to go in at 5 min, cover her up, tell her I love her and that it's time for bed (I felt kind of bad because she looked so relieved to see me), and then I left the room. She then woke up at 7:30 and I got up with her. Her face lit up when she saw me, so I could tell she wasn't mad at her momma for letting her cry! I'm hoping that she wakes up less. They say it should only take 3 nights to get these little munchkins into a schedule, so we'll see what happens!

Good for you mama. It is hard to let them cry but is the way to go.
