6 Months!

Where does the time go? Olivia, we can't believe you are already 6 months! We have been amazed as we've watch you grow. learn, and develop.  We took you to your 6-month Dr. appointment yesterday and were shocked to find out your were a whopping 20.7 lbs (above the 95th percentile) and 27.5 inches (in the 95th percentile). WOW!!

  • You finally take a soother (YAHOO!)
  • You go to bed like a such a big girl!! Only a few whimpers every once in a while. After your bed-time routine of reading books and singing songs, we lay you down, put your soother in your mouth, and off to sleep you go! Your bed time is now 7:30 (rather than 8:30) and you still wake up at 7am.
  • You still take 3 naps during the day.
  • You love, love, love to sing, and to watch others sing...if someone is singing, you are captivated.
  • you continue to discover new noises every day: coughing, "hi", "dada", "momma", "mom", clicking your tongue
  • no teeth yet, but you sure love gnawing on your teethers
  • you love to laugh!! And we love to make you laugh! This is one of the best sounds we have ever heard!
  • When you get really frusturated (usually related to being hungry) you straighten your arms, stretch your neck, clench your jaw, and let out a scream/grunt.
  • everyone who meets you comments on how happy and smiley you are.
  • you've started to have a hard time with baths. It almost seems like you're scared. We now put you in chair to let you sit up in the bath (rather than lay down) and this seems to be helping.
  • You can sit up all by yourself (with supervision).
  • You love to talk and make noise
  • You love to discover the world around you...you pay close attention to your surrounds and seem to be taking it all in.
  • you will grab every and anything within your reach...even if it's not in your reach you will still see if you can grab it.
  • you are very content. You really don't cry unless you are hungry or over tired (and even the over-tired cry is seldom)
  • You love to go for walks, and swing at the playground
  • you love to eat peas, and have become less-fond of your rice-cereal
You are amazing and we love you!

20.7 lbs - that's crazy. Russ is still 19 lbs and he's a year old...hahaha...but he is very small for his age. She is definitely a gorgeous little girl.
