I was SURE that I wouldn't make it this far...I was just certain she would have already come! I now realized that I have NO control over any of this. And, you know all those things that are supposed to naturally induce labor?? Well, I've tried most of them, and nothing has worked. ;)
Anyway, since I am now a week overdue, I went in to have an ultrasound today to have that cute baby in me check out. The radiologist told me she saw everything she was looking for and baby girl is looking good! She told me that most caucasian babies are born with short legs, but our baby has REALLY long legs. Also, could tell that she didn't have much hair, more just peach fuzz. She was sucking on her arm a lot and told that babies are sometimes born with hickeys from sucking so much...I will check her arms to see if she has any hickeys :). I asked how big the baby is.....around 9.4 lbs. Good thing her head is a normal size (we never know what we are going to get with Isfeld big-head genes!)
Yesterday I had a Dr. appointment. I was asking questions about being induced and was sort of concerned about it. Dr. told me that since I am 2-3 cm dilated they will most likely break my water to induce me and I am hoping that my body will kick into gear and do what it is supposed to. She also said inducing doesn't necessarily have to be a bad or terrible thing; it may take a bit longer to get things started, but once I'm in active labor, I'm in active labor and things should be just fine and normal. I had a dream that I went in to get induced, they broke my water, and 5 minutes later she was born (with no pain I might add)...MAYBE THIS DREAM WILL COME TRUE???
So, August 20 is the day: I WILL GET TO HOLD MY SWEET ANGEL IN MY ARMS.
