I had an appointment for 7:30 a.m. to be induced. We were SO EXCITED to go to the hospital. My mom and sister came to stay with us to watch Olivia.
We got to the hospital. I was 3 cm dilated so they determined they would break my water. However, they didn't have a nurse for me at that time, so they told us to come back at 10:00....We did.
At 11:00 a.m. they manually broke my water. This is not supposed to be painful, but it was!!! Obviously, the Dr. didn't do a very good job. :( Anyway, I was hopeful that this was all I needed....hopeful that my body would just do it's thing. We walked around, and around, and around. I was having contractions, but nothing major...I just felt a lot of pressure in my back.
By 3:00 p.m. my body still wasn't kicking into gear so they started me on the drip to get contractions going (they actually didn't start the drip until 4). I wasn't thrilled about this, but I obviously need to have my baby, so this is what we had to do. Right away I started contracting every 2-3 minutes.
5:45 comes along...I was only dilated to 5 cm!!! WHAT?!?!?! That's it?? I was sure we were going to be there all night!! But, I was wrong. It was right about this same time that my body decided to have this baby!!! She was born less than 2 hours later!
Aubrey came out screaming! And, as soon as they placed her on me, she stopped. They took her off again and again she screamed...the whole time...until she was back with her mom. I love how safe and secure she instantly felt with her mother.
Wes is such a proud and happy dad! He loves his girls!!
Grandma Karen got to come up and meet us in the delivery room after she was born.
We love our little Aubrey and are so happy she is here!! We can't wait to get to know her better, to love her, and cherish her. She is an angel.
