3 years baby!

WARNING: MUSHY POST AHEAD!

On September 8th Wes and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary!! On one hand I can't believe it's already been 3 years, and on the other hand I feel like we've been married for forever...haha...in a good way! :)

Before Wes and I ever started dating we became really good friends first! We were actually both dating other people, but Wes and I really had a lot in common and enjoyed being together, talking and hanging out! Several months later it's like a light-bulb turned on....it occurred to me for the first time that there was something quite different about this guy, and that he had all of the qualities of the "man of my dreams".  Whoa. I didn't, however, all of a sudden decided that I wanted to date him, but I was open to the idea if it ever came to that. However, what I did notice, is that my feelings for him had changed: I went from thinking he was just such a cool guy and being so glad that we were such good friends, to thinking that he was actually super amazing and the kind of guy I could really see myself with. And, for the first time, I started to feel nervous around him. haha!

Wes told me when I moved back to Calgary and we saw each other again, he knew he had to ask me out before anyone else did.  :)  Awwww....

He did ask me out, and by the 2nd date I really had no desire to date any other person. I loved, loved, loved just being with him. The more I got to know him, the more and more clear it was to me that he was "the one". I knew a month into dating him that I would marry him.

I love that I am married to Wes Pitcher! While it hasn't always been a walk in the park, we have worked together and learned a lot....and, I am grateful for that.

He still makes me laugh every day, is my night in shining armour, and the man of my dreams! I am one lucky girl to have such a great guy!

PS....to celebrate we went on a date! First one in a LONG time! So long I think the last date we went one could have been our 2nd wedding anniversary (yes, it's true) when I was SUPER pregnant with Olivia.  

Thanks Tara and Darren for coming all this way to babysit for us! :)

Anniversary #1

We really wanted to get away and take a vacation to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Wes has always wanted to go to Las Vegas...so we took a trip! Both of us really love it! We stayed at the Luxor and the Statosphere....both places were really neat. We loved walking on the strip after dark, really enjoyed the show "Mama Mia", had fun shopping, thoroughly enjoyed the temple, and made sure to relax a bit by the pool.

We got to spend the first couple of days with Brian, Candace and little Cole Stuki. Brian and Wes were mission companions. It was great to hear their mission stories and to hang out. They were such kind hosts and took us to see the Red Rock Canyon... thanks so much you guys!!!















Because we were pretty close to L.A. we decided to go there for one day. We walked down the "Walk of Fame", took a tour to see where the stars live, learned that the post office in Beverly Hills is the only one in the world with valet parking, wathced as the red carpet was pulled out for a film festival, and saw the original Village People earning a star on the walk of fame. It was a lot of fun. We would love to come back when we can spend more time.

So, I can't believe that we have been married for a year already. It has been a great year...I feel that we have both learned a lot about ourselves, each other and about being married. I love Wes more today than when I married him and I am looking forward to our lives together and to find out what the future has in store for us.
