Our BIG Girl!

 Our sweet little angel girl, Olivia, is now 5 years old!!

WE CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!

When I asked her what sort of cake she wanted, she replied, "a spider cake!". Olivia and Aubrey had fun helping me put the spiders on.

For her birthday, we decided to head on down to grandma's to celebrate. We had such a fun time!

Half way down to Grandma's, we stopped at a CANDY store! As you can see, the girls LOVED it!!!

We all picked out one treat.

Crafts with her cousins! 

When I asked Olivia what she wanted to do for her birthday, she replied, "make spiders". So, we made some pumpkins AND spiders.

Opening her presents. This lucky girl got clothes, markers, crafts, a bowl with her name on it, a Fancy Nancy puzzle, animal hats, candy, a few little toy spiders....

....and an ART easel!! I  foresee countless hours of creativity happening with this thing! 

Can't wait to to put it in our kitchen!! 

Cake time!

We sure love this little cutie!!! She has grown leaps and bounds since starting Kindergarten. She loves to learn and explore her surroundings. She has a love for life and has an impressive imagination. She loves to help mom out, ride her bike, draw, paint, play with her sister and brother. She loves to read and is starting to read a few words on her own. She is really good at sounding out words and loves to write.  She  is such a great big sister and loves to teach Aubrey about stuff. She loves her little Simon and takes every opportunity she can to hold him or pick him up. She still loves animals more than anything. When she grows up she wants to be an Animal Doctor. 

We love our little Liv. She is such a joy to our family!!

a late Birthday Present...

What a fun day...

Wes had a trade show and I had some work meetings for a chunk out of the day, but as soon as we were done we happily and excitedly came through on a birthday promise we had made Aubrey....

For her birthday last month, her gift from Mommy and Daddy was a Pony ride. We told her by having her open a gift bag containing a paper figurine of a little girl riding a horse. We promised we would take her one day soon.

The rest of summer was busy, then school started, and then the snow came (that had me worried), but yesterday we realized that we should just make this happen now! 

So we did. We managed to book the last spot of the day and surprised the girls!!!

THEY LOVED IT!! ... we all did!

Olivia Turns 4 (Part Two)

I wanted to do a Friend Party for Olivia this year. She had 3 friends that she wanted to invite. Two of them could come. Boys were not allowed. Seriously. The only reason Daddy was there was because he snuck in! 

It was so simple. We ate hot dogs, opened presents, played some games, and ate cake! 

It was simple and great!

Simon's Blessing Day

Simon was blessed exactly one week after he was born! It was either then, or wait until December...which is normally a really buys month! This is always a special day for me. I'm so grateful that I get to be a mom, a brand new person, who has come to our family. We love Simon and are excited to watch his purpose and life unfold. We feel grateful that our little Simon has so many people who love him. 

We also had cake for Olivia and sang to her! 

After the day was over, I realized that we didn't get a family picture!! Bummer!!!

Olivia Turns 4

For Olivia's Birthday we celebrated at home with cake and presents, just the 4 of us. It was perfect and so fun! 

this picture makes me laugh... notice Aubrey behind the couch? As soon as the sparklers were lit, Aubrey ran behind the couch...she must have remembered getting burned by the sparklers at her own birthday party in August!

Olivia is her own person!...and, we love it! She looooves animals! And, loves pretending that she's an animal (Ms. Jodi from preschool gave Olivia her favourite preschool toy: a Turkey!). She was trilled!! Olivia is such a smart girl, and can remember things easliy. She loves school and playing with her friends. She is very imaginative. She's got her own, spunky personality and loves to make people laugh.  She is such an incredibly little (big) girl and I am so blessed to be her mother!

Aubrey turns TWO!

[August 20]

We LOVE our crazy, spirited, intense two-year old!!! 

On her actual birthday we celebrated with cake, song, presents, and swimming as a family! Then, on the weekend we invited the extended family over for a party! We thought it would be easy and fun to have a bouncy house in the backyard. When Aubrey say it she said, "this is AWESOME"! It was a hot August day and absolutely wonderful to see so many people come to celebrate with her and spoil her! Even her great uncle Jerry came down from Edmonton.

Aubrey loves to sing, color, loves babies and is sooo nurturing. She takes every opportunity she can to hug and kiss my tummy. She has such a kind heart and if she sees someone is sad, she will immediately feel sad for them, and hug them to cheer them up. She is ALWAYS hungry and will eat anything. She will often eat the food Olivia doesn't finish. She loves her big sister so much and will do anything or be anything Olivia tells her to! Aubrey is so good at sharing and loves to sing! 

Aubrey, you are an absolute JOY and a BLESSING.
