The Bahamas!

[January 2014]

Back in the Fall, Wes and I decided that for our 6th year Wedding Anniversary, we'd go somewhere tropical...but we'd wait until the Winter!...after the baby was born, when it was cold at home. We weren't sure where we were going to go, but we knew we wanted somewhere hot!

It just so happened that Wes' cousin, Cody Berglind, and his Fiance, Megan, decided to have a destination wedding in the Bahamas!! We were excited!! Excited to be able to attend their wedding and have our anniversary trip all in one! And, it was really nice to spend some time with our family. 

We stayed in Nassau in a beautiful home (3,000+ sq ft) that was right on the water!!! It was hot, beautiful and relaxing!!!....JUST what I needed. I needed a moment to breathe! 

Wes and the rest of the crew went to the Atlantis Resort Water Park...I stayed behind with baby Simon and enjoyed every moment of that. 

On Simon's 3-month birthday (Jan 27) we took him to the beach! ;)  .... he didn't like the water! :)

We spent some time looking at some historical sites (The Fort, and Pirate Museum), and attended church on Sunday. it was so neat to meet the members of the church in Nassau, feel their spirit and to feel completely welcomed by them!

Las Vegas!

I went to Vegas..again! ha! 

This time it was for a Business Convention.

We tried to make it work so Wes could come, but we didn't have childcare. And, even if we did he got a couple of really big jobs so we thought it was just best for him to stay home with the girls...plus, we've been to Vegas a few times together. We'll choose a different place to visit together...in the winter when we need a warm break!

We were at the airport at 4:40 am...and I really didn't get any sleep before that! Luckily, Liz let me sleep on her shoulder...pretty much the whole time...for both flights! Thanks, Liz! Vegas was HOT. I almost died. We arrived on Wed (my sisters and their husbands), got to their hotel, the Stratosphere, and walked to have lunch at _____. And then we had to walk back!! I feel like a baby, but I really was drenched in sweat and felt shaky! I made it back alive! I was happy about that! We hung out for a bit and then I was asleep by 8:00 pm! Party Animal!!

Thursday was training all day at the JW Marriott, Gems Breakfast Friday morning, with convention starting in the afternoon going through Sunday morning. 

I loved seeing our team members and re-connecting with people....and meeting new friends!

I had an amazing time, but boy...I sure missed my family!!!!!!

We went to Vegas

[January]

Yes, in JANUARY we went to Vegas! ... a while ago, but I figured I'd still share. I had a convention in Houston, TX, and afterwards met Wes and the girls in Vegas. It was FREEZING...the coldest it had been in 22 years! There was ice in the water at the Bellagio and at the beginning we had to wear our winter coats...BUT it did warm up. By the end of the week we were dipping in the pool.

We saw the sights...the girls had a good time too. Our friends, the Stucki's (their daughter in the photo with Wes) watched the girls so we could go on a date night where we ate at PF Changs in Planet Hollywood and afterwards watch "O". It was sooo good! We also connected with Wes' cousin Cristen Carnell and got to see the Mid-evil show at the Excalibur. It was a fun week!
